I've never noticed that 330 ohm resistor there... is that a new addition or has it always been there? As I have a falcon that I did the JTAG on that now has an E79 error(see my sig for topic.) I followed the zepyher diagram but I thought it was the same for all of them. Anyway my the link in my sig has the alternative, but I can't see any other alternative points. Ty for the infor for DB1F1 alternative though I will have to be extra carful not to screw this up.

P.S. Did you lift your trace on the DB1F1 point as well  biggrin.gif ?

still amazes me how people dare to use heavy duty 100W soldering irons on an Xbox 360 and wonder why they are lifting a trace
just use a 15W if you're unskilled to use heavy duty soldering irons

I use a 30W soldering iron and that wasn't the problem. The problem was on each point  when I tinned my soldering iron and then put it on the point it actually managed to take out ALL the solder from the point leaving me to scrap down to get copper. So far this is for DB1F1 and its alternative. Its not that I'm lifting the trace but even if I fix it there will still be the problem of refilling the holes with solder some how.

Sorry for bumping, but if I understand correctly, I could solder to the track along ft1u2, instead of to f1tu2 directly?

I'm sure you could but I would think that would be more difficult.  On my jasper there is another hole along the trace that I could potentially use to do the JTAG hack.  I was keeping it in mind for a sort of backup backup plan.

I did this.

http://users.tpg.com...eringmaster.jpg

it takes the strain off of the wire, while still bringing it in to the point.

Yeah I had the solder get wicked out of the first point by my soldering iron, it was only 25 watts, but I guess I left it a little too long

I can't solder points Db1f1.

I'm looking at so many of the pics in this thread and none of it shows switching diodes directly into the db1f1. Aren't you guys suppose to have a switching diode directly to the db1f1?

ALso, any tips on soldering the db1f1 pt? I dont think this pt goes through the board which makes it difficult to make a good joint for the diode and the pt

it isn't a hole like the other cables.  what i do is melt a tiny dot of solder on this pad, then carefully attach the wire w/ very little metal exposed to it.  if you blow this pad, you can flip the board and use the other side of the pad.
