I was just happily playing on my old banned 360, loaded a backup of hasbro family game night, then started playing some scene it, and suddenly i notcied a friend signing in, what is going on? I pulled the cable and reconnected and it signed in again! Ive double and triple checked im looking at the right console as my new one which is unmodded wouldnt be playing my backups.

Anyone!?

as im assuning thats a sarcastic reply i just want to reiterate that im deadly serious, ive modded no fewer than a hundred 360's many if not most have been banned. My thought is are MS unbanning older banned consoles in order to reban them with the more severe HDD crippling ban we are now seeing?

It seems im the only one though.

The same thing hapenned to mine,i was searching the web for similiar cases and this was the only one i could find. I noticed yesterday that i could log in to live and play online and at first i tought it was something only temporary and that everyone who got banned would be in the same situation but aparently thats not the case. Thats really strange but hey hope it keeps that way until the next ban wave

Mine wasnt a older ban,mine was banned in the latest ban wave. Its been banned for some weeks and now all of a sudden i can log in into live again. But the strangest part is that aparently theres not many ppl having the same thing hapening to them

Any of you two guys tried the hard disk installation , after you'Ve been unbanned? Did it uncripple, or are you unbanned , with no hd install?

No. I havent tried it yet. Its like i said,i am really a casual gamer,even with my console modded for about a year i have no more than 20 games.

This keeps getting stranger and stranger,i keep searching the web for simillar cases but i cant found nothing and no news related with unbanns made by microsoft.

My guess is that you were never really banned in the first place.

Are you sure you were not experiencing an XBL service outage and mistook it for a ban? There were some outages a some weeks back.

It sounds like you may have more than one console laying around- maybe it was one of the 100+ other banned consoles you have been involved with and not this one?

I think there are about 100 scenarios that are more likely than an MS "unban", especially since the ban itself actually alters your console. It is not a matter of being able to log in or not, an "unban" would have to reverse all of the corruption and crippling that one gets with a ban.

MS could certainly do it on purpose, but we have no indication that they would.  And to chock it up to an error on MS's part would be like dropping an unassembled jigsaw puzzle and having all the pieces fall perfectly into place.

I hope it is true!  But I will have to wait for more confirmation before I can believe it.  Maybe there is yet hope for all those banned consoles!

Everytime i tried to log in it said that i was banned from live because i violated the terms and blablaba...it hapenned around the time of the massive ban a month ago or something like that so i can pretty sure tell you that i was indeed banned.

Not the first time I've read something like this.  I've read of consoles being unbanned from the older waves before.  Within the past 6 months on this site too.  No one knows why, just like no one knows "why" they were banned.  All though this is the FIRST time I've ever read about one being unbanned so quickly.  

Why not call Microsoft and ask them what the hell is going on?  Then demand a portion of your gamertag $$ back, since they appear to be ready to admit they made a "mistake".    

I also recall reading a news article at the beginning of this years wave, where the guy being interviewed said something like "It's not clear, if these are temporary or permanent bannings from the Xbox Live service."  I think it was that front page article about 1,000,000+ console banned.  Don't think he was a MS employee but he was someone "important" in the gaming community.

Just kidding dude....maybe someone some how spoofed your consoles info and m$ caught that and
released it back to the original console it belonged to......you never know

did you get ban in the last wave or earlier?
did you reflash to the original fw after the ban?
do you have a good GF that loves you so much she replaced your 360 with a unban one looking on this site for profile and hd transfer hints...lol

I will try to answer your questions but i really dont know much tecnical details.


About your first question,english is not my first language so i might have understood it wrong but if i got ir right the answer is that i am playing direct from the dvd not from the HD...if thats what you were asking.

I got banned in the last wave,the one that was said to have near 1 million bans. Now i wasnt one of the firsts that got the ban,i read in the news people where getting banned a week before i did but i eventualy got banned also.

I havent done anything after the ban,since i didnt use it much i really didnt care,i kept playin offline but eveytime i turned on the console i log in in my profile the same way i did before the ban,then the message saying i was banned apeared until one thay that i was able to log in  

lol my GF couldnt care less about my 360,i dont play much when whe are both home so theres no conflict there. Just for the record if i did play it when whe she was home then she would more likelly call the microsoft and ask for the ban herself then replace it by a new one  
As the days go by and its still unbanned i am starting to believe that i might just get away with it
