Just thought I'd post my experiences with what I've tried so far (Xenon, Hitachi drive patched to iXtreme 1.51, using XBR and USB HDD). Please note, I've not tested any of these longer than 5-10 minutes at most so "loads fine" is no guarantee that the XBR lag isnt actually there. Infact, I dont recall any of my games not having issues in that regard - either through lag or crashes. One other thing I should mention, I probably DO have title updates in my cache for some of the games that have been causing me problems, so your attempts may differ. Would appreciate any feedback if other people have different experiences.
Heres hoping the geniuses behind XBR give us an update soon.
Seem ok
Batman Arkham Asylum - Loads fine
Modern Warfare 2 - Loads fine
Forza 3 - Loads fine
Tekken 6 -Loads fine
Borderlands - Loads fine
Lips & Lips #1 Hits - Both seem to load ok
Scene It Games - Loads fine
Bayonetta - Loads ok, but quite regular lag
Star Wars Force Unleashed - Loads ok, little bit of lag every now and then but nothing too bad
Need for Speed: Shift - Loads ok
Burnout Paradise - Loads ok
Trivial Pursuit - Loads ok
Pro Evolution Soccer 10 - Loads ok
Big Lag/Stability Issues
Ace Combat 6 - Loads ok, but starts to lag very quickly
Flatout Ultimate Carnage - Loads ok, but starts to lag quite quickly. Not unplayable however
FIFA 10 - Had to manually patch both xex files, crashed mid game
Unplayable(?) at the moment
Resident Evil 5 - Won't copy properly in Xexloader 0.12 or 0.26 (only seems to copy default.xex)
Dead Rising - Crashes on Loading Screen
Left 4 Dead 2 - Crashes on Loading Screen
Ghostbusters - Dirty Disc error, tried Quickboot, Xexloader's game list, and launching the XEX directly.
Virtua Tennis 2009 - Crashes with black screen after title screen. Audio can still be heard and the guide button comes up
Rock Band 2 - Same problems as reported elsewhere on this forum
Lastly, the "CopyDVD" function from Xexloader 0.12 definitely seems FAR better than the one in 0.26 to me. Conversely, the file copier in 0.26 seems alot more robust (but still far from perfect), so its worth keeping both on your HDD imo. Hopefully the next revision will give us the best of both worlds.
