Making Games Region Free
« on: December 04, 2009, 10:35:00 PM »

Hi all
I was playing around a bit, and noticed if you extract the game data from the ISO image and run it through XeXtool remove the region coding and decrypt it. Then simply replace the original default.xex and burn to disc and the game will play region free.
This may be real helpful to those who cant change there KV to another region
Happy modding and keep the new stuff coming :-)

Some games especially many JAP region games don't have another region xex to replace, so instead you need to patch it
When you use XeXtool it will leave your original default.xex and create a new patched file default_Decrypted.xex
If you are using XeXLoader then just select the new .xex
If you are burning to a dvd then you need to rename the new patched file to default.xex

My anti-virus detects a Trojan upon opening/scanning Xex Tool v5.2

There is a video on youtube that explains how to stealth patch a game and make the ISO Region Free.

It contains a download link for the software he used.
I'm downloading it right now and will check it out.

edit:
Ok, I got Xex Tool v5.2 to work using the X360gamehack GUI, and modified the default.xex
I extracted the default.xex from an ISO file.
How would I go about replacing the default.xex that's in that ISO with the new modified default.xex?
