Well, now that this is a front page story it's only a matter of time before MS comes up with a patch to prevent this from working.

They already have, they already have updated the 2nd stage bootloader which prevents this hack from running.

Can someone confirm if you cannot remove R6T3 or Xell will stop functioning the best/only solution is to use ground wire to write protect the nand?

It would suck to get up and running only to be shut down in a drunken mistake at 2am  laugh.gif

Removing R6T3 is perfectly fine, and a good idea. It will protect you against accidental updates which would otherwise kill the JTAG exploit.

If you are going to use an xbox for homebrew, then there's no need for any efuses to ever be changed again; the rebooted kernel doesn't care what the real fuses are set to, it's been hacked smile.gif

Although, now that this hack is known to the world whats stopping MS from changing the code that locks this shit down?  And we start constantly chasing our tails

if you have this hack done already, m$ cant stop you. only you can stop you.

the only way its going to get updated is if you fuck up

remove the efuse resistor and that will never happen.

Thanks Torne for the good advice, can I ask you for some more;

So on a recovered banned console it would be advisable only to do the Nand protect, to enable dash upgrade when needed without screwing secdata.
But for exploitable consoles you should do both the Nand AND remove R6T3?
(Of coarse using a toggle switch so nand is not protected all the time)

I just wanna be sure rather than take chances at this

I meant patching the arcade games so this trick (turning demos to full games) wouldn't work anymore.

I assume MS can detect this type of mod.

Has anyone tried going on live with a Homebrew enabled xbox 360?

They can detect it easily and no, I doubt anyone is willing to go on live with the system unless they are an idiot.

Well those that can do the hack and use these tool are smarter than those dumbasses.
But now the tools are public I am sure we will see more idiots asking how to do this on unmodded and fully updated consoles.

can someone test it on games on demand games? i know they don't have trial option. but if someone buy this and share, can other xbox has XBReboot v0.05 run that game?

if it is posible.
someone can ompare games on demand game with its disc version (Installed to HDD) so maybe with that method all games become like games on demand games and playable without disc
