I can tell you that they must store flags. I set up a external modded drive and kept my original drive in my 360. I had a external sata cable out of the back of the 360 so I would connect what ever drive I wanted to use, and always unplugged my network when I used the modded drive, yet I was still banned.

Are you sure that you never on live with your moded drive? Please confirm, because I am doing as you did.
When did you get banned anyway?

They must have a way to detect the firmware because I had a hitachi w/ 1.5 on it. I had the REAL MW2 disc in and was banned in last ban wave.

Funny part is at the same time I had a backup in another xbox with benq using 1.61 and that one still is not banned.

I turned them both on at the same time so I would have thought that both would have gotten banned but maybe they just found a way on hitachi and liteons cuz the benq is still running strong tongue.gif

I am sure at some point in your consoles life you have a backup in the drive. Even if it was not online at the time.

I'm quite sure that the final determination has been this...
Stealth Firmware.
It returned a response that was easy to detect as modified.
Use non stealth with abgx CORRECTLY, and not worry.
