I seen may people ask the but no one seems to answer, can you do the LPT method then use this type Adapter convert to USB to boost the read and write speeds, or do you have to have some type of LPC USB header board to do USB?

As long as you're using LPT on any part of the connection, you're going to be limited by LPT speeds. There's nothing you can do to change that without using USB.

so it is the cable it self that is slow, not the port ?

and if that is the case, is any way to just make is cheap USB device with out the headerboard and only a cable ?

It will probably function (I don't know if nandpro is bit bashing or any other trick that often doesn't work on USB adapters), but it will not gain a single bit of speed.
