I have a liteon drive and i switched it for a samsung with Xtreme 5.3A, is it safe to go on xbox live?

If you believe the purely speculative reasoning that Modified Firmware was detected on the basis of additional stealth checks on disk media in the iX firmware, then yes "its safe".

Use at your own risk.  You could avoid this Ban only to be caught in the next end-of-year Ban/Sales Push.

I have put the original firmware back on my 360 for online and am playing my modded box in my living room offline. This is sooooo tempting to put 1.4.1 no stealth, bad devil on my shoulder. If i do it im obviously gonna post, just gonna take a few days to work up enough guts to do it.

I has talk with one there know something about Nonstealth 1.4 and all other firmware he says that all firmware "Extreme,iXtreme " can be detectet by MS.  the firmware has some security calculations there take to long for the "Extreme,iXtreme " But it will be fix in the new one "LT". you can believe it or not. But it a trusted source.

Oh right, It does seem though that alot of people are safe on 1.41 NS at the mo. LT could be weeks or months away. Most say after xmas

I flashed mine first then updated to the latest dashboard. I was on 1.51 before hand so couldn't update first if i wanted to anyway.

I am going to flash with REV 2 ben q multispeed 12x today.  I have a new ben q box coming...

Will take the updates first though.  Seems like people with this are not getting banned....I'll let everyone know how i get on too.
