I'll Live Without Xbox Live, But...
« on: November 13, 2009, 12:25:00 PM »

There are many people out there who haven't been banned yet simply because they had decided to stay offline for now. A lot of them don't give a shift about the "xbox live stuff" - they are mainly interested in offline play. Their biggest concern however is to save hdd capabilities.

Now for the question... if you...

1. kept your ethernet cable away from your xbox "from now until forever"
2. upgraded to 1.51 and made copies of all your legitimate wave-4-and-above games (wave 4, wave 5, ..., wave 999) and converted them to wave 3

...would you be able to enjoy a few years of offline play without worrying about ban waves, dashboard updates etc?

My falcon has a spoofed samsung instead of the original benq (due to it being a smoother drive with backups) and has had several fw updates, but......
I have never connected to live and only receive updates thru games.
I'm really hanging out for things to happen thru the jtag hack, ultimately XBMC for me and don't care about banning as much as losing functionality by being banned or updated.
My question?....
Does anyone know if wave 4+ games can be patched so as to avoid new updates that kill the jtag hack.
I don't care if it flags me for a ban, unless they can ban thru game discs. Playing latest games offline and XBMC is top of my list.
ATM i'm on hold with new titles
