How To Tell If Your Xbox 360 Is Flagged To Get Banned

I don't know who actually figured out this trick but a lot of people have tested this and results have been consistent. This only works if you select United States when it asks you what region you're from.

1. go to http://service.xbox.com

2. In the left column display under console management, click on "register a console."

3. Either register a new windows live ID or login with one you currently have.

4. Click on the "register a console" button.

5. Enter the serial number of your xbox 360 (found on the back of the unit) and all of the other informaiton. everything but your serial can be bogus, but just make sure you have your region on united states and correct zip codes according to state and then hit submit.

6. Your console should show up, and click the "request a repair" button that is right under it.

one of two things will happen:

Either A) an error screen will pop-up stating "This service is temporarily unavailable. Please try back again later" which means your console is "flagged" for banning OR cool.gif it will take you to the online submission form where you can fill out information to return your console to MS for repair and you are not "flagged".

Not true.

The xbox.com site is notoriously buggy, and works intermittently for people like me.

Microsoft cannot see, on a computer that has just had a legal copy of windows and all legal software installed, that the person using the computer happens to have a flagged console, and then conveniently state 'this service is unavailable' when you try and access something as simple as their support pages, before even registering any console or username/gamertag/live ID for the site.

An error that other users HAVE been reporting is one that has a number, something to the tune of 54220.
They have found that after flashing back to their original drive firmwares and running their console on live with an original disc in with that for a while, the error would go away and they could register their console for a repair (not register it as in the initial registration; register it as in it has already been registered and needs to have a repair booked).

Well this would in fact prove then, that they are capable of detecting the weather or not the firmware is legit. I have been unclear as to what the ban was looking for since I recently had my boxes modded and only put in a borrowed backup game to see if the mod worked, I am interested in getting back to the original firmware, but have no clue how to do so. Who can point me to the right thread to cover this step by newbie step?
