Problem With Lite-on 83850c Modding
« on: October 03, 2009, 07:24:00 PM »

Alright, I've got an odd problem. My computer is kind of old (2005) and the SATA chipset is not VIA (VAX something or other).

The problem is, when I get to the step where I put the tray in the half open state. I do exactly as it asks, eject, then press eject again and quickly remove the power cord, then put the power cord back in. At this point I press "OK" and then my computer instantly goes black screen on me. Also, can't get the USB modification kit to work either. I tried uninstalling the drivers to the chipset just like what was recommended for the VIA chipset but that didn't work either.

I've tried using jungle flasher and 360 modification USB Drive v1.6 revision 4 to no avail. If anyone can figure out why my computer is retarded please let me know.

Running windows XP.

I guess what I'd like to know is if I can bypass the second check of the dvd drive to make the key files. I can boot up my computer with the dvd drive in the half open state. As soon as I take out the power plug, put it back in, then try to use jungle flasher, it reboots.

*Update*

So I used the 360 usb drive program again and this time it worked. It dumped my firmware and everything. It erased the flash and then tried to flash the drive. Apparently it didn't flash the drive correctly because when I tried using it on my tv the drive was completely unresponsive.

Any way to fix the drive? It no longer shows up in my bios.

I can always spoof a BenQ with the key I extracted.
