Dude you can't use that,
as that tool your using is for all other revisions
to flash a lite on you need something to dump with and i don't see a usb or serial cable to get
the dump from the probe that would explain why you getting the serial data is bad message
you need a CK3 OR something like that i personally use The CK3 Lite what you are using is only used
for powing the drive if it has usb port on kit then use but from picture you posted looks like no USB
slot or serial cable spot so get yourself a nice ck3 and flashed as easy as 123

That board is for powering the dvd drive, which you DO need to do so thats OK. I see a spear there, which is what you need, but whats that plugged into?. There should be a wire going to the com port on the back of the PC from that spear. The spear is supposed to be going though a level shifter (unless one is onboard?).

What you could do is use that PCB to power the drive, and if the spear has no level shifter, make one on the cheap following this tutorial here
