Hardware Diagnostics, Possible?

If theres a error it wont boot intill you fixed that error. You can check the secondary error and it will give you more details what needs fixing.

There a lookup table on this forum somewhere in the hardware section.

Hardware Diagnostics, Possible?

very interesting vid. any1 know how this is possible as i fix a lot of 360's and this would help a lot, appears that it is linked to the serial port on the pc, so is there a serial port on the xbox? data is exchanged with the xbox as it says on the screen sending bootloader!!! so could this be done with updated consoles to send the old bootloader wicth has vunrebilitys in? a pic could be programed to send the old bootloader or even another chip of some description, a custom bootloader could even be sent in theroy??

You fix a lot of xboxs and don't know if there is a serial port on it? blink.gif
It was shorty after the JTAG exploit, so i guess its an LPT cable, but could be and RS232 like you said as well.

the points for reading and writing the nand are the same, but no points for the 330r resistors. so the nand can be read and wrote to but the exploit cannot be booted yet

The exploit can be started if you are able to submit the jtag commands at the right time without using SMC (recall/read initial hack.txt, they used external microcontroller originally) - but also this doesn't preclude the possibility that a.) something else was discovered that was "uninteresting" from an exploit perspective, perhaps even a simple hardware diagnostic interface over a com port -or- b.) that there is still much that could well be undisclosed in the hopes that keeping it secret keeps it from being corrected/changed in the manufacturing line.

I personally think it would be idiotic to create such a complex machine on a generic design and multi-million times replicable scale without a simple way for the manufacturer/service center to get in and burn-in or later test, or possibly even restore to factory default before attempting more major work like reballing - though for most "homebrew repair" people (aka: those selling xclamp replacements as if it is a complete fix) the means to gain access to such tools remains out of reach.
