Sorry, another question...

Is it not possible to install games to the XBox HDD when using flashed firmware? I've backed up Batman: Arkham Asylum which plays from the DVD without any issues but when I try to install to the HDD from the backed up DVD (to save my laser from unnecessary wear) I get a DRE at approx 40% of the install process.

I made sure to use made in Singapore Verbatim disks and recorded at 2.4x.

First off, I highly doubt you backed up Batman, it's not even out retail yet.  But yes, you can install games to the 360 hdd with ixtreme.  Sounds like you have a bad burn and will probably run into DRE errors when playing from the dvd as well.  If you have a good burner, i.e. Pioneer, you can burn verbs at 4x easily.  Burning slower is not always better.

Let's say I work for IGN and am reviewing an advanced copy.

Well if thats true wink.gif then your still breaking the rules, You can only back up a copy of a game you own. Review games there's no way to own it, You have to return it after your review then buy a retail copy.

Promotional copies can come for free for personal use, I'm sure.

Regardless, if I have broken the rules, please consider this a humble apology smile.gif
