Heres a short video of me successfully flashing a BenQ drive using a Unibody Macbook Pro under boot camp. All parts can be found on ebay and include:

via vt6421a PCMCIA card
ExpressCard 34 to PCMCIA adapter
Molex-wall plug

Using a custom made usb-Molex adapter (5v) you can flash absolutely anywhere on battery power! however you must manually eject the disk for drives like BenQ

sweet.... I need to get the cards, also, would this work on a samsung ms28?

this is a pain in the but so far... the original xbox was so much easier

As far as i know/have tested it works on both liteon and benQ, considering its got the correct chipset i see no reason why this wouldnt work with every drive

keep in mind you will need a xecuter connectivity kit for this to work/power the drive

xecuter can be bought from any modchip online store, and the rest of the parts can all be bought off ebay

Im pretty sure your aware of the risks, but dont modify drives without a power supply.

Because of grounding issues. I am actually new to all this, and I have been reading material on this site and some others, but I thought you were able to leave it plugged in to the xbox for power, and just hook the sata cable up.
