Xenon Diagram For Lpt Flashing
« Reply #465 on: December 26, 2009, 07:29:00 AM »

Hey guys! I'm having some trouble with a LPC-H2148. i followed this tutorial: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?sho...493&st=150#. now i got to the point where flashmagic gets a deviceid, i can read and erase the flash but when i get to the programming part i get an error - "failed to send data to the device". i've been at it for hours and i'm just about to give up. what i've noticed now, after erasing the flash, is that i only get the red power led on the lpc-2148 when i connect the device to usb even after removing the bridge. i'm a little worried i might have somehow damaged the device because i switched the rx-tx to get it to work in flashmagic. also, my rs232 board has a switch on it that says "run" and "program". i've tried both and still no luck. any ideeas?

it could be numerous things, check this thread for ideas. Apparently the LPT reader sucks and about 25-50% of the people that use it cant get it to work (including me). I have a USB reader on the way but wanted to get a head start on it.

what board do you have?  also did you leave the jumper wires in place?  And make sure the JTag cable is not hooked to your PC when trying it.

Does the hacked bin I download like xenon 1921 does that need to be open and my CPU key and maybe other info needs to injected to it RIGHT! Antman I just reflashed back to orig.bin but I'm starting to think the hack .bin needs something

Wire gauge does matter.  A lot of people recommend 30 gauge, but I personally used the individual braided wires from a length of CAT-5E cable.  There are 4 twisted pairs of 24 gauge wire inside, which leaves you with one extra wire as a spare in case you mess up.  24 gauge is slightly thicker than 30 but you can still solder the points without issue.
