How can I dump the Nand with a USB connector as my computer does not have an LPT printer port?

I have a Japer Board that does not have the extra 256 or 512MB storage.

I too want to find out. The JTAG for the Jasper is out.
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=695658
but I cannot find the instruction as to backing up the Jasper NAND. Would it be similar to the Xenon?

I have the same problem as "tharindu.gamage".  I was able to read the NAND successfully but when I flashed the system no longer powers on and I'm unable to flash or read from the NAND any more.  Is there any way that I can attempt to write to the chip once again?

I believe I read that the 16MB nand takes about a half hour to dump. Does that mean the 256MB will take 8 hours using LPT?

As I anticipate needing to backup the NAND repeatedly as updates are applied, I've been thinking of ways of leaving the wires connected permanently but with a way to disconnect the lead going to the LPT.

My original plan was to use a 15-pin D-Sub socket fixed to the back of the case, with a 15-pin plug joined to the end of the LPT cable, but I'm put off by having to cut a hole to mount the socket, which would require removing the motherboard to ensure I don't short anything with metal filings.

What I'm planning on doing now is using a PS/2 socket, which has 6 pins plus the outer metal body so making the required 7 connections, wired to the motherboard and then a PS/2 plug on the end of the LPT cable. This is a lot simpler as there's a hole in the back of the case through which I can poke the cable attached to the PS/2 socket (I butchered an extension cable so I've got two molded connectors each with a short length of cable attached), leaving the socket outside the case.

My only concern is whether it's safe to have the outer metal body, which will be connected to GND (J1D2.6 or J2B1.12), exposed. I can always wrap a bit of insulating tape around it when it's not in use, but it would be good to know whether that's necessary or not.

Sorry but this is a noogie question.
I dumped my NAND and got 1 error 250 bad block.
What is the next step I need to do with this NAND.bin file?
My console is not banned and the kernel is at 8507.
I don't need the DVDkey as I have a back up.

Please let me know what I need to do with this file or point me to a guide.

Thanks,

No I didn't.
So what can I do with the NAND Dump?
I read that if my console gets banned and cripples my HD, I can flash back and it will uncripple my HDD.
Is this true?

Thanks

Hey,
So I'm in the process of making the LPT cable with an old printer cable I had laying around. I've just finished continuity testing all the wires inside, but I have one question. It seems that the only wire that is connected to pin #18 is also connected to pins #19 - #25. Will this pose an issue with the cable? Or will it be fine?

Thanks,

Thank you so much for this!! I was starting to do this tonight as I have everything I need including an old dash.  I started ripping apart a regular parallel printer cable and used a continuity tester to label the cables I needed and found that the pins didn't match up sad.gif So I just order this:

Thanks again!
