Would the extract work on a 3ROD box?. I have a Xenon that's dead and will get it heat gunned but just as a test was wondering if this will stop the extract of the EPROM. Logic tells me it wont as powering of the eprom should always happen, irrespective of the state of the xbox. It's a nice way to test the LPT setup works without risking too much if it all fails.

Yes it will work, as I dont have heatsinks on once xbox and it just RROD, you will have to get it to boot at least once so you can get the CPU keys to decrypt the NAND if you want to fully test your NAND dump.

Actually it is a shielded 8-wire PlayStation2 extension cable w/ends chopped off.

Hahaha, a Playstation2 extension cable, no way i would guess that.
(Good use of the competitors parts)

Could you measure the resistance of one of the wires? and the voltage on d0-d7 of your printer port?

Shielded should be better, but it may also cause your problems with the longer cable.
Did you connect the shielding to the Xbox outer casing and the shield of the pc?

Use to work for a big telecom firm and have seen some weird shit with different sorts of cables.

Tested and working on 4 consoles now using infectus. Every dump is perfect.

Read time - Approx. 3 minutes

Write time - Approx. 10 minutes

Erase time - 1 second

Any one tryed setting the dvdkey and model as blank and seeing if it works with any dvd drive.
Cant try intill I get something faster then flashing with lpt. Take a hour to write for me over lpt.

Also any one tryed changing the serial number and xbox id on a banned console then seeing if it will connect to live.

The system kinda works like serials of pc games. All serials ms created are all registered, custom serial will only work offline. The only way is buying a cheap rrod system an use that serial.

Im glad im not gonna use lpt to read and flash. From what ive been reading its slow and unreliable.

This has already been tried and different results occur when using invalid combinations (such as all 00000s) - none of them are good. Check the Xboxhacker BBS forums for more information.

Should work fine aslong as the rrod isnt because of something power related and causing the power brick to go red.

Cool!  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pop.gif)

There you can see what people are doing for the same thing that you said.  Also I use ribbon cable, and I think cat5 wires will be just fine.

Check the 330ohm resistors, Make sure you are using vga cable.
Try use another computer to write to the nand.
