Hooking Up Two 12v Fans
« on: July 02, 2009, 10:12:00 AM »

You can hook two 12v fans to the power cable of the dvd rom. I have a 360 using this for a year without any trouble but im no expert and just trying things so......  biggrin.gif

In this thread you can see a picture wich shows you where the 12v is located. Look @ the DVD power connector pic.

Im using two 12v fans on one 12v cable. I believe its slot 12 i use. And i use the ground cables from the stock fans. The stock fans are removed here. Dont connect 4 fans (4 ground cables) to the stock fan connecter. I dont know if this can damage anything.

Mostly it takes longer to shutdown after applying this mod but this is all normal dont freak out smile.gif

Do not connect to dvd drives power unless you wish to damage your dvd drive.
Also 3 fans are the limit for the stock fan pwm header.
Use one of the point on the back of the xbox from the PSU plug for 12V.

never mind I figured it out I got the header and am working on the mod soon. I think I'm gonna get the solder out with just heating up a precision screwdriver instead of drilling.
