I cant get the drive visible in windows, the VIA card seems to be functioning fine, and the lite on drive shows up in POST, but not when windows is loaded.

Ive tried booting it with the drive half open, open, closed, powered on, powered off. None seem to make any difference.

Also I get an error when I attepmt to load JF, I can hit continue or retry, and on both instances  JF will then load seeming fine. But I cannot then locate the drive under any of the options in the DRIVEKEY 32 tab.

Please help.

Ya, it dawned on me last nite the x64 issue, the files could do with updating.

I move it all over to one of my other box's running XP. Its all sucessfully flashed I think, I went through all the motions, though as a foresite I bought memorex media at a premium rate (brick and mortar shop) as I didnt fancy waiting for delivery. Should of ordered it sooner, was pre-occupied.

Anyways, reading the Memorex isnt a good media for the xbox so will be taking it back to the store for a refund. Ordered some Aone discs which should be here Tuesday I guess.

So the question is, the drive IS playing originals after flashing. So one would think it all went well, right?

glad you got sorted, yes if its playing originals then your flash will be ok, no problems.Aones are ok be lately they have not been as good you will just have to see how they perform in your drive.
