Liteon Drive + Spear + Jf = Bad Serial Data?
« on: May 02, 2009, 05:45:00 PM »

Okay, I've read the tutorials for the JF;

I've installed Windows XP + PortIO + .NET 2.0
I have onboard SATA and nForce. Just in case, I also have a VIA-card, the correct one.
To connect and read, I bought this: Xbox 360 Solderless lite-on DVD key extractor addon - DB9 Version
I'm using the x360 to power the drive.

Okay, I have connected the alligator clip to this part of the x360 to power it with 3.3V
The spear itself, I'm poking into the hole just below 707. I've also tried to poke it at the bottom part (like described here).
I've successfully pulled off the "tray half-open" trick, and I did not fry the drive by inserting the cable the wrong way around.

JF opens up and it detects the xbox360 on SATA. It also detects my dvdkey-extractor via USB (says it COM3).

No matter what, I always gets the "Bad Serial Data". I'm pushing softly, I'm pushing hard, I'm pushing with all my force, I've tried anything!

Anyone got a clue? :/ I heard that I could get a "battery holder" to clip the alligator clip on to, for making sure it has 3V power, but I couldn't find one at the stores..

By reading this (it's not tl;dr! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)), do one of you have any idea on what I can check? My COM-thingy works (tested with hyperterminal), and my 360 is brand new. Gah!

Thanks, much appreciated!  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)

Hi

I´m having exacly the same problem!!!

Using: Lite-ON + Nforce2 + Windows XP + CK3 Lite and CK Probe
I have only one COM to connect to CK3 Lite

PROBLEM :
I Open Jungleflasher 1.51
Do the trick with tray
It opens a window saying that the Drive unit isn´t ready.
The unit port could be open. Verify a: and certify that a diskwas inserted or the port remains closed

I press continue and voila
This is a 32 bit process running on a 32 bit CPU
Found 10 I/O Ports.
Found 1 Com Ports.
Found 6 windows drives.
Found 2 CD/DVD drives.

Finds the drive PLDS,
Port properties 0*A800 Via serial ATA Raid controller
COM1 Ready

Everything OK
I put the Probe into 707 and it turns Green.
I press GET KEY and SERIAL DATA IS BAD

Thank you guys
Help is well apretiated

PS: I bough a flashed XBOX whith 1.4 and I´m trying to update to 1.51.
The box cammed with the 707 and 708 solded. I retired that solder to obtain the green light in the probe.
Do i have to put it again to play the backup games?

Again thanks a lot
