May Have Bricked A Lite On But Not Sure
« on: March 31, 2009, 09:45:00 PM »

IM running vista 32 bit and i successfully flashed a sammy ms28 yesterday with this same system.

This is the steps i took to falshing my liteon drive:
-i built my own extractor
-i ran everything just fine
-did half tray open thing
-extraced the dummy, identify, inquiry, key
-made lite_cfw.bin
*****now this is where it started to mess up*********
-tried to erase the drive and i never got 0x72 but it said drive was in vendor mode.
-then i kept getting errors: (heres the log file) (All the XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX are my drive key just covered up)

Your extractor worked. All you got to do is take your frimware you made in Jf (  lite_cfw.bin )
and flash it in Iprep or dosflasher.

All the extractor does is extraced the identify, inquiry, key, and dummy.
Make sure this is not the key 55AA55AA55AA55AA55AA55AA55AA55AA you flash in your drive.
You can check the key in JF.

JF is JungleFlasher.

okay so i have the key but now i need to use iprep or dosflasher. got ya. and 55aa55aa55aa55aa55aa55aa55aa isnt the key i falshed to my drive, it was my actual key.

thank you for responding. i will come back with results.

If I have the lit_cfw.bin alredy then can i just skip the reading and go straight to the flash? just put the firmware in the root or what?

Im sorry if i sound nooby. Ive been out of the game or a very long time.

wrong!!! the extractor extracts key only, the rest is over the sata. your extractor worked correct!!!!
yes everything looks good until the erase did you power cycle the drive within 1 sec by jacking the power in and out after clicking on lite on erase in jf, then under flash chip properties they should be some info .

everything went fine using dos.
I had to try it a few times to get the vendor status but its good.

The problem occured when i tried to power cycle during the erase, when i did it i was using the system to power it and when i hit the poer button it stayed on to cool off the machine and wouldnt turn back on for about 5 seconds or so. From now on im using my connectivity kit v2 to power it.
