Sorry for nub question but what exactly does hackable mean?
I already see posts about modding with and without soddering - is that not the same thing?

Just bought jasper arcade and overwhelmed with all the articles ;p

Well you can make or buy your own kit to obtain a key from the dvd drive. But it is the same thing for lite-on drives

Yeah, You will be able to backup the inquiry.bin etc files from your lite on drive insert into a lite-on made firmware and erase the firmware from the lite on and write the new one, I would recomend the X3 lite and if you dont want to solder you would just need to modify the power cable for the dvd drive and atatching some sort of thin metal object ex sewing pin, or you could buy the probe with the X3
