I bought a pre modded 360, burnt games and played them. A few games later, my brother borrowed Assassin's Creed from a friend, the game didn't work, but it works on his friend's. I burnt Ninja Gaiden II, didn't work here, worked for his friend. I don't know about AC, but NG II is PAL - Region Free. I've played other PAL - Region Free game(GRID) on my 360 and it worked fine so I guess that's not the problem.

So, what could the problem be? Old firmware? Something went wrong while modding? I just wanna know what could it be, and depending on the situation I'll send it back for a change.

At the very least, you shouldn't be creating back-ups from your friend's purchased games.
