Anyway, I've done it now. So is there any test to see what solder i used. Like I said the package didn't have any information on it.

Preheat your iron?? What sort of equipment are you using to do professional repairs. A decent soldering station takes less than 7 seconds to come up and once on maintains the temperature.
Yes I too can use any type of tip or attachment but a lot of the people here can not and in my opinion using the lower wattage iron will cause them more problems, I see the results evryday.
The solder you suggested is  just a repeat of what I had already said 22swc Rosin core so I agree with you on that point. beerchug.gif
