In other words, he can't.

I bet on that!

You can't compare the 360 to a TV SAT encryption algorithm.

Well there's one sure-fire way to get a hacker to do something. Tell him he can't laugh.gif .

I would ask for the 100K and then ask for a bonus on each successful hack for an x amount (e.g 20K) so say 3 major hacks would be 160K surely that would be enough?

even if he did hack the console for $100k i think he would be a sellout and sell the information to MS for the right price as well.  so it's probably better off that he didnt decide to take that offer.  lord only knows MS would find out and pay him for the info and knowing this douche he would sell the info if the offer was high enough.  w/e that may be and possibly include as well.

i think MS would really love nothing more than have someone do the work for them to make stopping hackers easier.  let douche find the next possible hacks we havent found and stop them cold before we even have a chance at discovering them.  instead of sitting in Redmond sucking their thumbs trying to figure out how to stop everyone with hacked firmwares.

it seems like this guy is a corporate hacker, or a "good hacker", he's hacking activities are to improve security

"white hat"
But I agree that he sounds more like a douche bag. If he wanted more money, he should have asked. You don't negotiate by declining, you make a counter-offer.

I see your viewpoint, but I think a hack will actually help people take focus *away* from piracy. Almost everyone I know with a hacked xbox 1 doesn't even have their own games backed up to their hdd, but they all say one thing "it's a kickass media centre".

So this guy is a jerk just because he is good at hacking and makes money off it? Any person here would gladly take probably less than $100,000 to try to hack the 360 (assuming you had the skills required).
