External Hd Dvd Player Hack

I'm fairly new to the modding with the 360.  I was wondering, with the recent news in the format war, if it is possible to install a blu ray drive for a computer into the external HD DVD drive for the 360.  I don't have any experience creating my own hacks for consoles, but it seems that it would be possible to load the blu ray drive into the enclosure to watch blu ray movies. Is there some way to install the drivers on the 360 similar to the HD DVD drive?  or is there a reason that no one has tried this or discussed this?
