Xbox Live Update. With Flashed Firmware

i was wondering if when an update for xbox live comes out like a dashboard update. would i have to flash back to my original firmware before downloading the update to not risk getting banned? right now i have a flashed dvd drive in my xbox,  or does it not matter? if someone could let me know how that works that would be great. sorry if this was already answered i tried looking around. thanks

the easiest way to do an update is to disconnect the drive , and power on without it ,dont forget to keep the hdd plugged in , because its needed when downloading the update from the internet , this way you wont get banned for sure , and without the need to flash or restore your drive firmware ,i tested that my self

kk thanks alot.. and im not sure but from what i remember last time i turned on my xbox without the drive connected it wouldnt load the dashboard?  and what about updates for games? if the game is fully stealthed it should be fine right or do i need to do anything for that?
