Need Help On Hitachi 79fl To Hitachi 59d

hey i just got a new xbox arcade because my samsung just got the red ring of death, and it came with a dumb hitachi 79fl..i want to swap this drive for an older hitachi 59d that i have.. do i still need to install the pass key on the 79...
