okay, a while back i actually did try to flash my friends xbox 360 and we got pretty far and then on the final step from PC to xbox there was an error so i stopped so i didnt break it.  my other friend wants me to try on his but i have a few questions.  first, he has the new, not the elite, but the new 360 with the HDMI out.  can this be done on his? if so then i assume it depends on the drive.  2nd, is there a wasy to save his backups right to his 360 HDD and boot them from there, or does he need to buy a DL burner?  are there any specific drives needed to back-up games?  thanks for the help, i really wanna get this to work for him.

you've posted in the wrong section, but here we go:

can this be done on his?
Depends what dvd drive is in the xbox. If it's a Hitachi it's prolly a v79 and it will need a Passkey soldered, if it's a BenQ you have to wait a couple of weeks

2nd, is there a wasy to save his backups right to his 360 HDD and boot them from there, or does he need to buy a DL burner?
NO you need to burn them on DVD+R DL (so you also need a dual layer burner)

Are there any specific drives needed to back-up games?
Good stealth backups can be created with xbox-samsung dvdplayers or so called KREON drives (search this forum!!!)
