Asking To Update Banned Console?
« on: October 04, 2007, 06:52:00 PM »

Alright, here's my problem, my xbox got banned back in May or whenever they first started banning people when the Halo 3 beta came out. So, I got a broken 360 off ebay and fixed it. I've been playing games online with that one, but I need to make a shim for it because it still freezes sometimes and is a bit tricky to get working. Anyways, sometimes I play games on my banned one if I'm not planning on playing online. I played Halo 3 yesterday for a bit and I showed one of my friends a video (that sweet nade vid "My will be done" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)). Anyways, so today I feel like playing a game but don't want to mess around with the other 360, so I plug my hard drive into my banned xbox and turn it on. It says I need to do a security update or something otherwise it will take me to the dashboard. Whatever, I want to go to the dashboard anyways. So I click no. Then I try loading my game, and it asks again. I'm wondering if anyone else has this kind of setup and went through this? I don't want to get banned again, and I didn't accept any new updates or anything since the last time I played on the banned one, so I'm confused as to why it says I need a security update. Maybe it has to do with the replay theatre in Halo 3, but I just want to make sure.

Thanks in advance,
