Quick Note About Using Schtrom 3.3
« on: September 27, 2007, 12:13:00 PM »

To get to the point, I was starting to have difficulty extract my original games with Schtrom 3.3.  It would give me the message "Cant get SS!!" or "Cant get physical data!!" (or something like that) and "No XBOX disc in drive!!".

So, my question was, what do I do?  I reflashed the kreon FW on my samsung sh-d162c, and no go.  reflashed to old kreon, restarted, reflashed to newest kreon FW, and still no go.  I was beginning to question whether or not my drive was going dead.

Then it hit me - the one change I made to my computer recently.  The Sygate Firewall!  I turned it off completely, and boom, everything works!

So, the point of this topic was, if you are having problems extracting your original games, it may be because of some type of firewall you are running or some other anti-virus, anti-spyware protection system.  Apparently, it was blocking Schtrom 3.3 entirely from accessing the data on the disc!

(And yes, I have confirmed this.  Everything works with Sygate off, and then with it on, it doesn't work!)

I would also like to note that whenever I had put in an original game before turning off Sygate, I would sometimes get a message saying "Access to specified path is denied."
