Hey all, I am working on doing my first firmware flash and its for a MS28 drive. I have run into some problems that I feel like most others aren't. I originally wanted to use Xtreme Boot Maker 5.3 RC1 to prepare the boot disk but I was unable to because I was getting Import Failures when trying to import my firmeware (Ixtreme 1.2), it does not allow me to import bin files either, just rar files.
Regardless now I am using Xtreme Boot Maker 3.6 which appears to be equally easy as it has the MS28 Bad Flash Compatability and Boke's patch. The only problem is it does not support the ixtreme12.bin firmware. I receive a Unable to find a matching Firmware Definition when trying to import.
Now here is what I am wondering, I have created a boot disk with Xtreme Boot Maker 3.6 using an older firmware (Xtreme5.0). Now can I simply go in and replace the xtreme.bin in the SAMSUNG directory on my USB Flash drive with the ixtreme1.2bin renamed to xtreme.bin without running into problems and proceed with the firmware flash as usual but now with the latest firmware?
