Ok this is my first post at Xbox Scene so go easy. I'm having trouble with my xbox (bios 4046) which was loaded with Linux about a year ago, from that time till now i have hardly used my xbox, except for one time where i was playing with the ip settings, and forgot to set the subnet mask to what i wanted and hence i am unable to ftp in thru linux.

This is my problem: i want to delete I MEAN absolutely remove any trace of linux from mysystem including the dashboard heading. These are my limiting factors i believe:
- i do not have the MechAssault game and cannot access the game at any time.( i live in a remote area and my friend who had the game has moved far far away) and so cannot load up the "Remove linux save game"
- i cannont ftp into my system due to the fact that i screwed up the xbox's ip addresses, even if i could i don't know what files + folders to delete.
- i do not even know how to log into linux right now, there is a keyboard on screen with a logon window, but i click on the keys but they dont go into the logon box..

So can anyone help me or at least lead me into the right direction of getting my xbox back to the state it was in when i bought it.

1.) do you have a copy of your eeprom on your pc?

2.) do you boot directly into linux or do you have a dashboard?

If you know the IP and subnet mask of the Xbox when it boots into linux, you can set your PCs IP and subnet mask statically and SSH or FTP into the xbox.

@total ass - no i dont have eeprom on my comp, and i load up linux in the dashboard..


@chadkeck - i have no idea what the ip address details of the xbox are atm. I can't seem to even login into using the virtual keyboard on the logon screen..... i logon with the root account but the screen goes black and takes me back to the logon  screen...
