Xbox 360 Console Code Help
« on: August 26, 2007, 02:13:00 AM »

Hi, i have a Toshiba Samsung MS28 DVD drive, i followed the guide 'Hacking The Xbox 360 For Dummies'. As you know to hack the FW on this drive it required you to de-solder a resistor, so i de-soldered this resistor, connected the wires as prompted, touched the wires when prompted and it blew something on the DVD drive board. So i put it all back together and connected it to my PC to see if it was recognised in the BIOS, it was not recognised. So i hooked it back to my Xbox 360 and switched it on. I get an error message saying 'Please Contact Customer Support' and an error code of E64. Is there any way of me getting my console code so i can purchase another DVD drive and flash the firmware with my xbox code. I do not have the original backup FW from my broken drive as that is what i was trying to do when it blew. Please help as i bought the 360 for £250 a few weeks ago. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Michael

Where are you located?
If you are in the uk I can help if you post me the DVD drive controller board I will be able to read the code by removing the chip (providing that it wasn't the chip that blew obviously)
I also have a couple of samsung ms28 drives in dead 360's so if you wanted I could pre-flash you one with your code and choice of firmware.
cost would be £50 total and that's including postage to you.
If the chip is dead and code is not retrievable then there will be no charge just the postage cost if you want me to mail it back to you after.

cheers
Danny.
