How Do I Know That I've Actually Been "banned" ?
« on: August 21, 2007, 02:01:00 PM »

I turn on my 360... I have it plugged into my network.... when I go to test my connection to xbox live... it completes all the tests successfully except for the last one, logging in.
guess that means I'm banned?

I thought my machine being banned would just prevent me from playing games online, but I guess in reality it will also prevent me from getting online updates.....downloading demos...etc ?

seeing as no-one else answered, i shall try. remember at all times up till now i though i was the noob - joking (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

as far as i know banned is banned, as in no connection to live, no online games, no nothing apart from single player offline play & updates that are forced by newer games - this might not be absolutely correct but its as far as i understand it (not banned yay!!!)

if you fail some of the network tests but can still play online i suggest you have a look at your NAT or firewall settings

i had problems connecting to games & it was my NAT being too strict - sorted now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

other than that im running iXtreme1.2c with no problems

good luck

*edit*

forgot to say.

my old d-link router (biggest POS ive owned btw) had real problems with live, it would let me play online but randomly disconnect me & it always failed the network tests no matter how i configured it.

i guess try another router if your sure you can play online & your NAT & firewall are set right (or dont worry about it, what id do)

for the record my router now is a linksys wag200g & it works great with the live ports opened up

Hit the 'more info' button and look for the numeric error codes. If Z is 0000-0000 you are not banned, it's a problem with Live or with your network connection. If Z is something else, you are banned (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
