1) If it's region free, then it was that way on the original retail disc. It's not possible to make a region-dependent game region free. So, there's no way to differentiate on that basis - the xbox can see it's region free just fine.

2) The only way you'd care about "region-free releases" is if you download games from the internet which is not allowed to be discussed here.
