Mlb 2k7 On Xbox 360 Pal
« on: April 11, 2007, 12:23:00 PM »

Hey there,

I just got MLB 2k7 for my 360. I bought it from a Canadian store, since the game is not available in Germany. I thought it was region-free, but surprise, surprise... it´s not! It´s only the PS3 version that´s region-free. Ok, my fault, but what can I possibly do about this? I´m afraid I already know the answer, but if I bought a modchip or decided to get my firmware flashed, would there be any way to create an .iso for a backup copy and change the .iso´s region code/convert the NTSC version to PAL?

I know this topic has already been brought up, but most of the time it was closed right away, since it was about piracy only. I´ve been waiting for this game for so long to be released and now they don´t even bother bringing out a PAL version... I´m really desperate, any help is greatly appreciated.

FW flashing doesn't break region coding. If you want to play an NTSC game that is region locked then you need an NTSC console.

I know that FW flashing or a modchip doesn´t make the 360 multi-regional, I was just thinking about getting that done in order to play a backup of the game (a PAL-backup of the original NTSC game; which I thought might be possible by modifying the .iso). And of course I can´t afford buying a new (NTSC) console just like that...

Thanks anyway!

No, we can't run unsigned code, trying to change the region of the game will invalidate the signature, then it won't boot. FW flash only makes it see "DVD-ROM" the same as "X360ROM", so when you put a "DVD-ROM" in it reads it and thinks it's really a "X360ROM" and boots it.

So basically the disc cannot be altered at all, if so then it doesn't boot. The 360 cannot be changed/modded to run unsigned code yet (other than the hypervisor exploit) nor can it be changed to read a different regions disc.

It may be possible in a year or two, but who knows.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Well that´s too bad really... thanks for your response though. Hopefully they´re gonna release a PAL version of MLB 2k8 then...
