the problem with ps2 emulators is that the ps2 games are coded so retartedly that it makes making emulators hard for it

i never said the xbox though

its all about the code

im pretty sure there will be a gc emulator though

the ps2 emulators have been out for a very long time though so they are inefficient when dealing with the ps2's code but i don't see them getting any better
its not like sony is gonna release some info like that on the net or something

I don't know much about emulating, but hardware wise the xbox 360 should be able to emulate most ps2 games at full speed. I also I am pretty sure the 360 could emulate the gamecube easily but Wii is most likely out of the picture.

OK getting hello world is a big deal, but all this talk of mod chips and all that is comming a bit too early.

This might be the start or it could be a dead end, the light at the end of the tunnel could very well be a great big train comming directly at you. Time will tell but for now you have to wait and see and stop posting speculation about what can and cant be done as right now you cant do nothing, if you can do somthing your probally already doing it.

Wii is just GC but faster.

Talking about emulating on the 360 is way early imo.

We're going a bit off topic anyway there is a simple reply:
PS2 cannot be emulated easily because it use a very complex (weird) CPU in a very custom architecture.

funny part is all you guys are failing to realize that most emulators for the xbox were made after their pc counterparts(in other words the source code was provided after the pc versions of the emulators) emulating a ps2 or gc is insanely hard on a system because ps2 emulation and gamecube emulation has still a loooooooooooooooooooooooong way to go on the pc. maybe (and i believe that it is a couple of years off) once ps2 and gamecube emulators on pc become decent, then we'll be having something forward to look for on the xbox 360.Its not only about the insane amount of power a piece of hardware provides, its about figuring out a video game system thoroughly and properly programming an emulator first.

I know many people will say " but the xbox 360 has an xbox1 emulator". Problem is, that the emulator was written by a multi million dollar company who has a group of highly paid programmers and access to expensive equipment and access to all of the documentation for the xbox1.

dont get me wrong im the first one who wants to see ps2 and gc emulation on the xbox360 someday........ still i believe its going to be a long while. Interestingly though, maybe  xmugen and the nintendo 64 and playstation emulators might run better  biggrin.gif

There's an interesting thing to say anyway.
A GC/Wii emulator could be made quite easily for a PS3/XBox360 since they all use a PPC core so it's entirely possible that a GC emulator come to light for PS3 in a short while (since PS3 can be easily "programmed" via Linux) and ported to XBox360.
Having to emulate only the I/O and the video subsystem a GC/Wii emulator is probably only some step away.

You all assuming stuff

Ever heard the saying do not assume as you make an ass of you and me?

Well the assumptions new dashes and what the system can and cant do is silly at this time.

The 360 is not the XBox they might be very different when it comes to what can and cant be done on them

Yeah, I say give it a couple months and see where this leads. But basically that "hello world" could have been "Screw you micro$oft" because now, we can explore the 360 in a great bit of detail. Let this hack develop a bit and we shall see what comes of this. But otherwise, AMAZING work. This is probably the greatest news I've had in awhile.
