Well, as you can see I joined a good few years back. So maybe my views are a bit old-school. But uh... is it worth mentioning that with a DVD in the drive and "boot to disc" enabled... you can just have a video of your choice play? If it wasn't a high def. signal nobody would even know. if the projector was getting 480p from the get-go. Or he could set it to SD. Whatever.

Sure it would be nice, but even I could have done that. And I've never programmed anything.

I'm trying to load it into premier, hoping to export just the good bit

Premiers conforming is taking ages though, already killed my PC once.

It seems to be protected anyhow.
Premier crashes, TMPG & Nero wont load it.

Here are some pictures I found on the digg thread.

First picture looks interesting.. The chip does not seem to be connected to the HDD connector on top of the console but rather connected internally. It also seems that the PCB interfaces with his PowerBook, probably through USB.

Doesn't seem that impressive.

Everything he has showed us can be replicated. The only reason people are giving it credit is because of the pcb hanging out of the xbox.

I hope I am wrong, but we have been let down to many times.

the pcb/wires hanging out of the 360 might be here becouse its a dev unit/beta unit, i remember seeing pictures of the beta 360 had wired coming out the top.

If what you said is true then maybe the person is a license developer and are hiding their identity so they wont get fired ph34r.gif

I would like to see a news post from the free60 guys and/or some of the xboxhacker.net insiders.

I do not think a major hack could be just one mans work unless it is a custom shader (lets hope not), but lets see, we have the hd-dvd hack that looks like one mans work if real...

I was thinking the same thing but if you notice near the end of the video the 360 is right-side-up again.

CODE
mencoder lightning4-t4s4.wmv -o movie-fixed.wmv -ovc copy -oac copy

gets it done.

Doesn't help a lot though, you don't get to see much more than on the youtube video.
