Should I Update My 360 Before I Flash The Drive?

It appears you have a relatively old 360 so it shouldn't matter whether you update the dashboard before or after you flash.

If you don't care about updating the dashboard - you can just download the new backwards compatibility update - burn it to a cd and update through that (not sure if you need a dvd or not).

Latest compatibility cd requires dash update, and it's included in cd itself.
