I have updated my system with the fall patch after I got a brand new Xbox 360 from Microsoft Repair centre. My previous one was broken.

Then I decided to flash the firmware. Ik have a Samsung 943 with F/W: ms25. I backed up the firmware and used Xtreme 4.2 package to create new firmware (a version)

I put it in my driva and then starten my xbox 360, one flashing red light on the lower right corner. After searching this indicated wrong firmware or wrong drive.

I have succesfully restored my backup firmware now, but how can it be that this is not the right firmware???

Obviously you have not searched around hard enough. Look for the E66 code. Your system is one of the ones that cannot have a ms28 based fw on an actual ms25 drive. Flash the drive to an older v3 firmware and you should be good to go.

I almost expect version of 4.2 based on ms25 to be released since that will fix everyone's issues.

I did not get any message, complete screen stays empty, so I did not get the error, just flashing red light. Is this normal??

the new X360SAM0.5 will fix your problem

Yes, X360SAm 0.5 resolves this problem by also editing the ms28 firmware it uses to the firmware version the original was (mine was ms25)
