I Lost My Backup Firmware!

You should have read before you attempted to flash. People dont recommend that you use an Autoflasher, and make several backups of your firmware at different locations.

Check your USB drive again.

Have you tried retrieving your key from any firmware you might have? Doesn't really matter about anything but the key. Try hex editing the relevant sections if a util like kdx won't read it. If you have that you can apply it to any firmware. Additionally, you might be able to get a copy of someone else's original firmware (from same dvd obviously) and inject your key into it, but I couldn't confirm if this will work for definite.

Personally I keep 2 backups of my original firmware (and text file with my key) on 4 different computers (and it's backed up to tape at work smile.gif) and 3 different email accounts....just in case.

Hi m8,

Good  news, the same happened to me after my computer went a bit pete tong!.

Get the OPA-XTREME-HITACHI-7IN1-V2_1 firmware for the Hitachi. (Assuming you have a Hitachi otherwise I would think a Samsung version is out as well)

Then use the the "Restore" function to restore your drive back to the orignal firmware.
Then repatch using the above firmware as it has a few fixes in it.

DO NOT! ever patch a already patched firmware!...always restore orignal and patch becasue you can never be sure if it will muck it up!

Regards

Your screwed since you lost your key.  No matter what - any drive will not work without this exact particular key.
