slax only will work with compatible sata chipsets.


my question is, can slax be used with usb to sata adapter with ANY sata motherboard to get to modeb

dunno about the slax thing, but the connectivity kit will get your hitachi into modeB by using the ....modeB switch on it biggrin.gif its one of the good things about the kit actually.  this info as all over the product details pages and is well documented.
