First of all.

You need to be using a hexedit MTKFlash such as this one:

http://rapidshare.de...ASHvia.zip.html

Second of all,

Disconnect ALL IDE devices and disable in the bios (It really does help detection)

Third,

Try with and without the SATA switch "mtkflash r /m orig.bin" "mtkflash r /m /sata orig.bin"

Fourth,

Try both SATA ports on the card with and without the /sata switch.

One of these will get it working... trust me.

I had a whole lot of problems wiyh my samsung as well but finally got it to work. Start your computer up with your bootdisk in the computer. Do not have the sata connector connected to the samsung yet. At the a promt plug in the sata cable and type in mtkflash r orig.bin no m and no / . This will give you 3 selections to choose from. primary, secondary and via whatever your chipset is. choose selection number 3 for your chipset. It should complete backing up of your bin. If this works for you then when you use your hex editor to get your key stop at address 4400 not 4200 and then save that hex file as modified.bin on the bootup floppy. Reboot pc and disconnect the sata cable until you reach th A: promt again and type in mtkflash w modified.bin and you should be golden assuming that you got the key correctly from the orig.bin. If you didnt it will not flash giving you an error message. may not even open the bin. If done correctly it should complete with out errors. Make sure you keep your orig.bin in a safe place this is very important. Also if 4400 does not work for you then use 4200 but we had the same exact problem so I'll bet 4400 will work for you. Hope this helps.
