Hi guys,

Could anyone please help me? I have made a backup of my dvd drive firmware (orig.bin) i am unsure on how to hexedit the fw. Am copying the $400-4200 strings from the Orig.bin or The Xtreme20.bin to the Orig.bin or The Xtreme20.bin ? Am really unsure.

QUOTE
Just copy the $4000-4200 strings in your original fw and paste it into the $4000-4200 strings in the xtreme fw

Could anyone give me a noobie tutorial lol

Many Thanks
Waitsey

You want to copy the key from your ORIGINAL.bin into the extreme bin.  The tutorials should be very clear on this.  Do not INSERT the key.  Look at the last address of the firmware and make sure it does not change when you paste in the 4000-4200 block.

i have done this over and over again. When i test the 360 with the new firmware it says Unrecognised disk when i put a backupin - plays originals fine - but not backups.

I only have one backup and when i have done the other samsungs/hitachis with the old firmware the game worked fine, so have the games changed?

If it plays originals fine with the new firmware, then you are inserting the key correctly.

If that is the case then your backup is not made properly.

How did you make your backup?

As I said, if originals play the key is fine.

Make a backup yourself or use one that you know works and try it again..

The backup i have, worked fine on the old samsung/hitachi roms but not the new samsung. When i got hold of the xtremepackage from comendor it has a file "Enable0800" do you have to include this on the backup cd?

Or is there something new you have to add when makeing the backup game?

the enable008 is for when you connect your 360 drive to your pc for ripping purposes.

You burn the enable008.iso and use the disc to enable the "ripping" mode for your drive.

Make a backup yourself using good media and a capable burner
