I Can Flash With Toshiba-samsung_360_auto_flasher But...

I was told today that if your Xbox 360 says that, then its most likely you have backup your copy wrong or you need a different dl drive. I have had to order a new drive cause my NEC wont do it for the Hitachi 360.

There is nothing wrong with my burner.  When I use the Toshiba-Samsung auto flasher, I can play my Prey backup just fine.  My problem is that I can't get the Xtreme firmware to work correctly.  I copied my drive security from 4000 to 4200 but I just read that I should try to copy it to 4400.  Can someone confirm this?  Thanks.

It is 4000-4200. The post saying it was to 4400 was a mistake. If you continue reading that thread, numerous people confirm that it is still 4000-4200.

This is from the Xtreme20 readme file:

Advisable to make a backup of your dvd drive firmware first.("mtkflash r /m orig.bin")
Please make sure you hexedit the Xtreme20.bin firmware to include your dvd drive key from your original firmware (just copy $4000-4400).

I think I am doing everything right and I cant understand why it's not working.  I have tried both versions of XTREME and the results are the same "Insert this disc in an XBoX 360 to play it" (or something like that).

Here is what I am doing

1.  Backup Original firmware

2.  Boot into windows and edit the original firmware with HHD Free Hex Editor 3.12.

3.  Hit Ctrl+G and go to line 4000 and I copy from lines 4000 up to  4200 (but I dont copy 4200).

4.  Hit edit then copy.

5.  Using the Hex software I open Xtreme20.bin.

6.  Hit Ctrl+G and go to line 4000 and select from 4000 - 4200 (I dont select line 4200).

7.  Hit edit then paste and then I save the XTREME20.bin

8.  I then shutdown, connect the 360 drive, and then use mtkflash.exe to flash drive with XTREME20.bin.

9.  Then when I boot my original and backup I get that stupd error message.

help me.
