Except you are dead wrong.

MS loses a massive amount on every console sold.

In fact, since the days of the Genesis and SNES, no console manufacturer has made money on the system hardware, they all sell at a loss.

So no, MS isn't doing this to sell more consoles.  They watch the homebrew and modders because they can use their ideas in future commercial products, and they can't legally stop them anyway.

I tell you what.. you provide me with a materials list of an entire 360 and I will bet you anything that the claim that M$ is losing money on every 360 produced is utter bullshit.. it's just another tactic in hyping the hardware. The only custom components in each 360 are the CPU, GPU, and DVD Drive. After that nearly everything else that makes up a 360 is off the shelf parts....

Plus all the parts except I believe the buttons on the controllers are made in China and Taiwan.. Then you got ONLY China assembling the 360s.... and China's labor is extremely cheap.... I bet those people working on the 360 assembly lines are making less than $3 a day....

Even if it's real, and they get it to work well, MS could just release a new dashboard or backward compatability update to stop it, right? This is assuming it's an exploit run under Xbox 1 emulation. Plus, the emulator isn't perfect, and has profiles designed for specific games. I'm assuming the homebrew programs would need to be modified to work right.

OMG, you are so intelligent. Did you work that out on your own? or did you read the past 52 pages and just decide to reinstate the "obvious at first", that has now been dismissed by xecuter?

havent been on the forums in a while, and reading this thread has reminded me why.

NookularDeath: http://www.isuppli.com/news/xbox/

as far as the actual thread itself, kudos to whoever took the time to get a software solution for taking over the xbox1 emulator, nice step, however personally i feel not only is ms gonna jump all over fixing this, and doesnt really mean much for my use, but nice proof of concept

the harddrive upgrade news is great, glad to see that happen, hopefully more to come regarding this

its too bad this board has pretty much gone to shit, littered with kids who dont know shit, yet still feel compelled to blab on with speculation. However theres noone to blame, the 'scene' got huge, part of the game i guess

When you have BILLIONS like MS does your really not looking to make money you just looking for more clients.  With every 360 purchased another person buys a MS product and another person hops on the bandwagon of ever growing MS customers.  They might loose money but they will gain a hell of ALOT of exposure to new people and new business in the future.

another thing that is not well documented is over 80% of MS is owned by I believe just the U.S. Government and or various world governments.

most if not all software development groups are given large amounts of money from special interest groups to develop games.....

I found it extremely funny that when I played BattleField2 on my 360 the opening videos showed a blue flag with the name `NEO-CON' at the bottom... Shit NEOCON is an acroynym for Neo-Conservative... What are the chances that a game being a wartime simulator would have that kind of insignia on it???

Your right ben....Its all a hoax....nothing to see here....keep moving....behind the line people....nothing to see here.  That sounds familiar doesn't it?  Does that happen when there are hoards of people trying to see whats going on at the "scene" of something.  Well guess what this is....the scene of something.  When we get more info you can be ASSURED that it WILL be posted on the main page.  Until then relax smile.gif

Nukulardeath -
You are doing way too many drugs. 80% government owned is total bullshit as is the idea of special interest funding of "most" developers.

This clearly isn't a fancy skin.  Why would anyone waste their time to make a fancy skin when it's so easy to fake the picture.

Step 1) Screen capture a screen in Avalaunch.  Save it.
Step 2) Screen capture a screen from XBox 360 with that particular blade popped up.  Save it.
Step 3) Us the Magic Wand tool in Photoshop on the XBox 360 picture with proper tolerance and use masking to remove any extra selection you don't want.  Then go to Edit->Cut.
Step 4) Paste selection on the Avalaunch screen capture.  Use Photoshop to darken the lower layer.  Flatten. save as a JPEG, send to XBox-Scene.
Step 5) ????
Step 6) PROFIT!
