Xbox Homebrew and Larger HD on Xbox 360 - Is it possible?
« Reply #345 on: June 28, 2006, 03:57:00 AM »

If this is real, amazing work!! The XBOX makes a brill media centre but its hitting limitations with HD. the XBOX360 should definitely make a fantastic HD media centre.

As has been said - X-S should be trusted - this has gotta be real - unless the other guy's right in saying that they're ramping traffic up for the sake of the ppc adverts (google adsense anybody?). dunno what to believe but waiting for some hard facts and like somebody else said - some TECHNICAL info on how this has been achieved!

Damn this forum was loaded like hell last night! i went to sleep tryna view 10 pages of these posts with the forum bomming out on me with 'server busy', and i wake up and it's 40+ pages already!  unsure.gif

please...please....pretty please....with a cherry on top.....some technical info please?

Also to the guy who made those screenshots - you should have known you'd get flamed for photoshop forgery! you should have made a video with everything in sight! opened up x360, all leads showing, etc..etc..! well unless you dont mind the flaming i guess then it doesnt matter.

oooh..ooh....my cousin hacked his xbox 360!!!.........with a CROWBAR! he got pissed off with the overheating and crashing in the hot weather and he has an anger management issue - he had to smash it up to feel better. poor xbox - rest in peace. yep sorry totally irrelevant to this forum, i just found it funny when he rang me and told me he had 'hacked' it.

Anybody know why M$ wants homebrew to run but they wont just give it to you in the palm of you hand??

Well if any of you were to look at the business model of the this idea only one thing stands out.......

Answer anyone???

Come'on...................your getting warmer...........

CONSOLE SALES, yes!!, SALES

MS has easily realized how "homebrew" ability will increase sales of the consoles (god only know how much it helped sales of the xbox1).

So what is little Johnny going to do when he wants to play Xbox Live and run the lastest and greatest homebrew.........?????

Johnny is going to buy another 360...and so are all of us soon   smile.gif

Just remember, before anymore of us bitch about anything, that just giving "homebrew" away as a company is kinda of a no no. Unfortunatly homebrew does have the possiblity of infringing on copyright laws and business to business treaties, M$ knows this, and they want or console sales (lol, thats how they win in the end) and for us to buy all the matching M$ accessories to go with it..................not only once, but twice.

Except you are dead wrong.

MS loses a massive amount on every console sold.

In fact, since the days of the Genesis and SNES, no console manufacturer has made money on the system hardware, they all sell at a loss.

So no, MS isn't doing this to sell more consoles.  They watch the homebrew and modders because they can use their ideas in future commercial products, and they can't legally stop them anyway.

@lastritz
Um... MS wouldnt want to increase console sales if it came with the price of homebrew. MS doesnt make any money off the sale of the console itself, Game sales make up the differential in cost vs. sale price on the console. So if homebrew was easier, and they released tools for development, then copying games would only be easier and so from a business perspective it would not be a good idea and they would never do it.

Edit: beat me to it

Hmmm.....

I don't think it's a secret that M$ is losing money on every 360 (as they did with Xbox) that goes out the door. They make money on the software side of things. Do they really think by making it easy to mod, it's going to increase software sales?? I doubt it.

This is all true but I think that MS would rather us all have 2 360s instead of a PS3. *shrug*

Xboxexpert...you may have been asked this, but 40+ pages...anyways...Ok I understand that you know something about whats going down. However you aren't able to say anything about it. Are you able to say when you think this might go public?
