Only one way to find out...  muhaha.gif

Seriously though, like anything - there's a risk.  You've just got to way up the benefits with the consequences.

its definately worth it with either dvd drive (sam or hi), i personally am having trouble ripping games, i never can apply the SS correctly. But i would recommended it if you can get everything on the backing up good.

I haven't had any issues at all with my hacked sammy and I'm very pleased with the results.  My load times differ by maybe a couple seconds or two but 2 seconds is worth the luxury of being able to have backups.  I think the hack is very stable and will have updates but the problem will be when M$ lays the hammer down.

i have recently had my xbox 360 modded (I have the Hitachi drive) and all the backups of games, when run, say that they are unreadable. The person that modded my xbox wasn't able to get any of his test backups to work on it and believes its an issue with my laser. He said that xbox 360 bought around the release date have a suss laser and it can simply be replaced. Is this the case? Has anyone else experience this? Is there something else i can do? have sent it back to the guy today to fix and will get back to you with the verdict

um...i know of no problems that were had with the laser. only dvd problems i ever heard of were the disc scratching ones and it sure doesn't sound like that is your problem.  either the guy that did your xbox screwed up and doesn't want you to know, or is very very uneducated in the history of the 360, or i am ohmy.gif

my guess is, he either couldn't get it to work cause he just couldn't or he screwed it up, and your laser is fine.
